January Jones remains coy over Ashton Kutcher acting remarks
January Jones has not spoken to Ashton Kutcher since he was outed as the ex who blasted her acting skills in a 2009 magazine interview.
The Mad Men beauty revealed a former lover had urged her to quit acting during a candid chat with GQ magazine seven years ago, when she opened up about the first boyfriend she had in Los Angeles.
"(He) was not supportive of my acting," Jones said at the time. "He
was like, 'I don't think you're going to be good at this.'"
She went on to add, "I should thank him. Because the minute you
tell me I can't do something, that's when I'm most motivated."
Jones did not mention Kutcher by name, but she hinted it was true
during an appearance on talk show Watch What Happens: Live on
Thursday night, when a viewer called in and asked, "January, have
you ever talked to Ashton Kutcher since he said you couldn't act,
and what do you think about his acting skills?"
Stunned by the forwardness of the fan, she quipped, "Ooh,
ouch!"
She then clarified her GQ comments, saying, "I said that someone I
had dated previously wasn't encouraging of my acting - not that I
couldn't. I don't know if that person had ever actually seen me
act. But the person who wrote the interview did the math and
thought it might be him; I never really said who it was."
Jones has not had any contact with Ashton since, but she would like
to send him a text message to congratulate him on the upcoming
birth of his second child with wife Mila Kunis.
"I'm super happy for him and his family," she added.
However, Jones remained coy when host Andy Cohen urged the actress
to confirm the ex she had referred to in the GQ magazine was indeed
Ashton, prompting the star to simply laugh off the question,
leaving fans guessing.
January and Ashton met and dated while Jones was working as a model
and attempting to break into Hollywood.
