Jamie Lynn Spears lands TV special
Britney Spears' little sister has landed a TV special.
Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out will take a behind-the-scenes look at the country singer and actress' life, and she hopes it will help her win back fans who deserted her when she fell pregnant at 16 in 2008.
At the time, she was the star of a hit Nickelodeon television show,
Zoey 101, but the baby news forced her to retreat from the
spotlight and concentrate on life as a teen mum.
She addresses the drama in the TV special, which will air next
month (Jun16), saying, "(I was) the child star who got pregnant...
A lot of horrible, nasty things were said. I look back now, and I'm
like, 'Oh my gosh!'
"I'm not just a child star. I'm not just someone's sister. And I'm
not just a teen mum."
Recently married to Jamie Watson, Jamie Lynn's daughter Maddie is
now seven.
The TV special will also feature performance footage from her Grand
Ole Opry showcase in Nashville, Tennessee in March (16), when
Britney and their brother surprised her by taking the stage to
introduce the singer.
Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out premieres on 26 June
(16).
