Calvin Harris 'feeling lucky' after car accident
Scottish DJ Calvin Harris is "feeling lucky" and thankful for fan support following his car accident.
The How Deep Is Your Love star was forced to pull out of shows so he could recover from the incident on 20 May (16), when the vehicle he was a passenger in collided with an oncoming car.
He was scheduled to return to his work commitments at Hakkasan and
Omnia nightclubs in Las Vegas on Thursday (26May16) and Friday
(27May16) respectively, but his representative announced he wasn't
well enough, so he had to cancel on Thursday.
Calvin, 32, broke his silence on Thursday night to personally
apologise and thank his fans for their support, writing on Twitter,
"Thank you so much for your messages and sorry to (sic) any
disappointment I caused with the show cancellations ... I'm feeling
lucky and very grateful rn (right now)." He ended the post with
three praying hands emojis.
The other driver in the collision was a teenage girl, who lost
control of her Volkswagen Beetle. She was ejected from her vehicle
and suffered a broken pelvis. Calvin, real name Adam Wiles, was
also sent to hospital but he reportedly left against the advice of
medics.
Announcing the new set of show cancellations, a message on his
Facebook page read, "Adam is still recovering from the injuries
sustained in the car accident last Friday. Unfortunately, as a
result he will not be able to perform in Las Vegas at Hakkasan
tonight, 5/26 and Omnia tomorrow, 5/27.
"He has asked us to pass on his apologies to everyone who was due
to attend the shows and hopes to be back to his normal schedule
soon."
Girlfriend Taylor Swift, 26, has reportedly been looking after him
as he recovers from his injuries.
