Jamie Dornan vomited during Rock of Ages audition

Fifty Shades Of Gray star Jamie Dornan is convinced he lost the chance to star in movie musical Rock Of Ages after taking a swig of whiskey right before his audition - and vomiting.

The actor reveals he tried out for a leading role in the big screen adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical, but he felt the part slipping away from when his audition went horribly awry.

He tells Variety, "I had to sing (Foreigner's) Waiting for a Girl Like You. It's nearly impossible to sing, and I've got quite a deep voice when I sing. My audition was at 10 in the morning on the Warner Bros. lot (and) I convinced myself it would be a good idea to have a bit of whiskey to relax my vocal cords and maybe as a bit of a confidence booster. I took a swig of Jameson and I instantly f**king puked.

"So I'm standing with all these executives driving around in golf carts, as I'm vomiting on the lot. It was a bad look. I hadn't been clever enough to bring mouthwash. And then I had to go in, stinking of whiskey and vomit and proceed to sing Waiting For a Girl Like You, which I couldn't sing."

He admits, "It was the worst situation ever. Obviously, I didn't hear anything back."

While Dornan didn't reveal what role he was up for, Diego Boneta sang Waiting For a Girl Like You in the film, as wannabe rock star Drew Boley.
