Rapper Iggy Azalea is battling illness as she releases her latest single Team.

The Fancy singer called a doctor to her home on Thursday (17Mar16) because she felt sick ahead of a day of promotion to coincide with the release of Team, her first single off her upcoming second album Digital Distortion, on Friday.

"Ugh. im sick (sic)... just had the throat doctor at my house," she tweeted. "ill be good in a few days - caught it early (sic)... he said vocal cords are good right now. gotta get rest and take the meds i should be fine to perform."

Iggy also shared a selfie which shows her holding medicine, and revealed she has been told she "not allowed to fly" so she has had to cancel her trip to the Ultra Music Festival, which kicks off in Miami, Florida on Friday.

She told fans she should still be able to perform on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon next week (beg21Mar16), but when she woke up Friday morning to get ready to promote Team, her condition had worsened.

"Guys i actually feel so sick, My whole body feels weak," she wrote. "Im scared its the flu. I hope not," before telling a fan the doctor only checked on her throat on Thursday because she "wasnt feeling like the body ache, fever type thing until today (sic)."

Iggy has got a full schedule of radio interviews lined up on Friday to promote Team, which was promoted with a dance music video. The release day did not go smoothly as fans were unable to buy from the iTunes digital store in some territories.

"Itunes is being a snail but the dance/lyric video is up on VEVO!!!!" she wrote. "Okay someones awake guys im getting the itunes thing sorted dont worry. lol. it wouldnt be me if something didnt go wrong (sic)... this is what they just said: iTunes has been processed & is indexing. As expected this is happening as fast as the systems allow."

Team is her first single since Pretty Girls, her collaboration with Britney Spears, which was released in May (15). The song performed moderately in charts around the world, but failed to reach the top 10.
