Hugh Jackman has a kind-hearted paparazzo to thank for his son's new toy after the snapper purchased the gift when the actor's credit card failed to work in a Berlin store.

The Wolverine star was photographed looking at presents for his kids during a promotional stop in Germany for his new film Prisoners, but he reportedly faced some issues at the register and ended up leaving the shop empty-handed.

The paparazzo decided to buy the present Jackman had been looking at and surprised him with the toy, which he readily accepted.

The exchange was caught on camera and in the picture, the actor can be seen expressing his gratitude to the photographer by shaking his hand.

He later took to his Twitter.com page to express his appreciation to the people of Berlin, writing, "Thank you Berlin. See you soon! greatcity greatpeople... youknowwhoyouare (sic)".

It's not the first time Jackman has received a helping hand from the paparazzi - he previously turned to a cameraman for help in finding his son Oscar after the youngster disappeared during a trip to a beach in Sydney, Australia. The snapper found the boy up a tree.
