Henry Cavill calls out 'disrespectful' female fans
Hollywood hunk Henry Cavill confesses he gets annoyed when female fans make "disrespectful" and suggestive comments to him in front of his girlfriend.
The 32-year-old confirmed his relationship with 19-year-old student Tara King late last year (15), but despite no longer being a bachelor, it hasn't stopped women from making saucy suggestions to him, even when he is with the teen.
"I've heard some things in my time, I have to say," he told the
Britain's Sunday Times Style magazine. "I'd best not say what. I
don't mind it - not unless I'm with my girlfriend and someone is
being complimentary to me in order to disrespect her. People who
don't respect other people's feelings really get my goat."
Henry's good looks and buff superhero physique have helped him
secure major Hollywood roles, but they also bring with them
unwanted attention at times and while he tries to brush off the
catcalls, he does wonder how the situation would be perceived if
the roles were reversed.
"'I do think there's a bit of a double standard, you know," he
continued. "I mean, if a girl shouts something like, 'Oi, love,
fancy a shag?' to me as I walk past, I do sometimes wonder how
she'd feel if a builder said that to her. Although, of course, I
wouldn't feel physically threatened, as she might."
Despite the unwelcome comments, Henry is extremely happy in his
relationship with Tara, but doesn't think it's necessary to put on
conspicuous displays of affection.
"There are plenty of times when I'm not that restrained, but I
think there's something to be said for a bit of decorum in one's
basic, everyday public life," he said. "Maybe that's a very British
thing, the old stiff upper lip, but I do think there's something to
be said for it."
Henry previously told Elle magazine he has no problem with the age
gap between himself and Tara, who he met in London club Mahiki last
year (15).
"People say age is just a number," he said. "It's actually real and
true sign of someone's maturity. But in this case, she's
fantastic."
