Harry Styles Skypes with cancer-stricken teen

Harry Styles thrilled a young fan by chatting to her online when she became too ill to fly to a One Direction meeting.

Kelcey Hallinan was set to meet her favourite boyband through the Make-A-Wish organisation, but she got too sick to travel so Styles agreed to "meet" her via the Internet chat platform Skype.

Styles first contacted Hallinan over Twitter.com, writing, "Hi kelceyhal it's nice to 'meet' you. I'm thinking about you... And sending you all my love. H .xx."

He later made a Skype call to Hallinan, who was being treated at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

She tells E! News, "I wasn't expecting it, so I was very excited when he came up on my computer screen! I was like talking to a normal person, not a famous person - (like) talking to a friend. He's a genuinely nice person."

Hallinan's chat with her hero lasted 18 minutes.
