Hailee Steinfeld champions self-confidence
Self-confidence is everything to Hailee Steinfeld.
The actress and singer has plenty of reasons to smile, including a high flying career, and girl power advocate Taylor Swift is one of her best friends.
Hailee is keen to share the message of confidence with her fans,
which she believes she has done with new song Love Myself
“I’ve had girls come up to me and say, ‘Thank you for this song and
this message, because it’s something that I needed to hear.’
Regardless of how they interpreted it, that’s all that matters to
me at the end of the day,” she smiled to Ladygunn magazine.
“It’s something I need to remind myself of — how much power it is
in being able to love yourself. It’s so easy to forget that we live
in a world that is so judgmental. I think if you can start with
yourself and have that self-assurance and that self-confidence and
love, then you’re good and you’re set.”
As well as music, Hailee is still busy with film commitments. She
currently has three new films in production, including Pitch
Perfect 3, which is due out in 2017.
Hailee appeared in the second instalment of the film joining
regulars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow in fictional
all-female a cappella group the Barden Bellas. Despite having an
impressive set of lungs on her, Hailee was so nervous on the first
day of shooting that she couldn’t lip sync to her pre-recorded
song, meaning she had to belt it out live.
"So the first time you hear me singing you will be hearing me sing
live. Which is terrifying!” she giggled previously to Jimmy Kimmel.
“And we were like well into shooting so I knew everybody, it wasn't
like I had just met them and now I'm singing in front of them.
They're really good singers."
