Gomez's puppy dodges doggy surgery

Selena Gomez is breathing a sigh of relief after learning her adopted rock-eating puppy no longer needs surgery.

The teen singer/actress picked up husky-cross Baylor last month (Oct11) after visiting an animal rescue center in Winnipeg, Canada with her boyfriend Justin Bieber, and she grew concerned about the health of the pup on Friday (11Nov11) after it appeared to be doubled up in pain with a mystery illness.

She wrote on her Twitter.com page, "My baby is sick :( praying for his surgery".

According to TMZ.com, Baylor fell ill after swallowing some stones and was set to undergo an operation to remove them - but the rocks have since passed through the dog's system and the pooch is now back on its feet.
