Girls star Zosia Mamet weds boyfriend Evan Jonigkeit
Girls star Zosia Mamet quietly married her actor boyfriend Evan Jonigkeit at the weekend (01-02 Oct16).
Days after the HBO show wrapped with tearful farewells from cast members Lena Dunham and Allison Williams, Zosia, who played Shoshanna Shapiro in the hit show, wed her actor beau in a small, private ceremony.
The news emerged after the actress shared a shot on Instagram from
inside the event, which showed two rubber ducks dressed up in a
suit and wedding dress in front of a sign that reads "E+Z" inside a
heart.
She wrote in the accompanying caption, “@evanj550 my best friend,
my soulmate, my HUSBAND, I love you. Here’s to forever and a
day.”
Meanwhile the actress' hair stylist for the ceremony, Tommy Buckett
from Serge Normant, shared an image of the bride-to-be’s ornate
hairdo, which was adorned with dark floral blooms on his Instagram
account.
“Sometimes you just don’t need a veil. Congrats @zosiamamet to
being the girl that has never been traditional," he gushed.
No more details of the ceremony have emerged as yet.
Zosia, 28, and the X-Men: Days of Future Past actor met onstage in
Manhattan three years ago, during a run of Broadway play Really,
Really. Evan first came to notice for his controversial nude scene
opposite Kathleen Turner in the 2011 Broadway play High.
Jonigkeit was previously accepted to Temple University on a
baseball scholarship but was unable to play professionally due to a
shoulder injury.
Zosia, who is the daughter of Oscar-nominated screenwriter and
playwright David Mamet and Oscar-nominated actress Lindsay Crouse,
lives with Evan in a $1 million off-Broadway apartment in
Manhattan.
