Ger Duany had to give up Oxford studies for refugee film

Sudanese actor Ger Duany had to give up his studies at Oxford University to audition for the role of a refugee in Reese Witherspoon's new movie The Good Lie.
The actor, who is a real-life refugee, was in the middle of his studies when casting agent Mindy Marin offered him the chance to portray Jeremiah in the new film.
He recalls, "Mindy Marin made a point to me, she said, 'We like you
but if you do this movie, you’re going to have to give up your life
and leave school'.
"So I made that sacrifice to leave school and to do this movie
because it’s the history of my country, and so I felt that it was a
valid sacrifice for me... Eventually I got to graduate."
