Foster The People star's fiance thanks Skype for keeping their romance alive
Foster The People star Isom Innis and his actress fiancee Carlson Young keep the romance alive in their jet-setting relationship thanks to Skype.
The Scream: The TV Series star admits her relationship with the musician would be doomed if it wasn't for modern technology.
"I don't know if we could have made it in 1950, but we can
definitely make it in 2016," Young, 25, tells People.
"No matter what, we Skype every day. That face-to-face
communication makes all the difference."
The couple has spent much of its three-year relationship apart, as
he tours the world with his band and she films her hit MTV show in
New Orleans, Louisiana, but Carlson reveals the first six months
they were together helped create "a great foundation", adding, "We
make sure we never spend more than two weeks away from each
other."
The actress will become Mrs. Isom Innis in April (17), and tells
People she is relying on help from her mum and a wedding planner to
make her nuptials extra special.
"I enjoy planning from afar," she says. "I know my mom will make me
kick into planning mode in the fall, but for now I'm enjoying the
luxury of just making little Pinterest boards and chiming in with
what I'm thinking."
Meanwhile, her fiance "chimes in for random things", while
complaining about the wedding wait.
"Every time I ask for his opinion on something, he's just, like,
'That's lovely, but why do we have to wait so long?' Young
chuckles. "He doesn't understand that it takes a long time to plan
a wedding."
The big day itself is sure to be all about the music - Innis and
his future father-in-law are both musicians.
"My dad is a musician, his dad is a musician and we have a lot of
friends who are musicians," says Young. "We have a growing list of
people who want to perform at our wedding. This will just turn into
a musical festival at some point."
