Fabolous honors producer shot in New York
Rapper Fabolous is mourning the death of a producer pal who died on Sunday (11Oct15) after a shooting in Brooklyn, New York.
Eric McKinney was behind the wheel of his Jeep late on Sunday when he was shot in the arm and the torso while waiting at a red light. Police believe he had been trying to drive himself to get medical help when he crashed a block away from Brooklyn Hospital Center.
He was found shortly afterward and admitted to the emergency room,
where he was pronounced dead.
The father of three, known to friends as Carl, had been working as
a hip-hop producer, and his friend Fabolous took to Instagram.com
on Monday (12Oct15) to remember the 31 year old.
Alongside a photo of McKinney, fellow Brooklyn native Fabolous
simply wrote, "My Brother. Love Forever."
He also shared a video of McKinney sparring with his young son in a
boxing ring, and vowed to support the kid in his father's
absence.
The Into You star captioned the clip, "This is what breaks my heart
the most... The kids losing their parents. The parents losing the
chance to see what the children become. This kid has sooo (sic)
much talent. I've witnessed their bond & how hard they worked & how
much they loved each other. I hope he fights on & continues to be
just like his father wanted him to. I will do whatever I can to
help this dream come true."
