Evan Rachel Wood in agony after tonsil removal

Actress Evan Rachel Wood is "in hell" after undergoing surgery to remove her tonsils.

The Wrestler star took to Twitter.com to tell followers she had a tonsillectomy, a procedure usually performed in response to repeated bouts of tonsillitis.

Wood explained to well-wishers that the surgery is usually performed on children as it is much more painful to undergo later in life.

She writes on the microblogging site, "Still in hell. Tonsillectomy... Its (sic) much worse for adults. Thats (sic) why they recommend getting them out young... It's supposed to be one of the most painful surgeries you can have as an adult."
