Emily Ratajkowski creates new outfit with favorite dress designer
Supermodel-turned-actress Emily Ratajkowski has teamed up with California designer Christy Dawn Petersen to create a new dress.
The Venice-based dress designer reached out to Ratajkowski, who bared all in Robin Thicke's racy Blurred Lines video and then portrayed Ben Affleck's mistress in Gone Girl, after learning the stunner had worn her lace and silk Fitzgerald gown to a wedding.
Petersen asked her if she would be interested in sharing her
thoughts about a new dress she was creating and the actress/model
jump at the chance to work with one of her favorite designers.
"Within a week, we met and designed the dress," Petersen told
WWD.com. "We did it really fast. It was cool to see someone so busy
want to work with a smaller company like us."
The finished product, called The Emily, features a square neckline
mini-dress with three-quarter sleeves. Petersen will create a
limited edition of 100 dresses and they will retail for $250 when
they go on sale next week (07Dec15).
A large portion of the proceeds from sales will benefit the Planned
Parenthood organization.
Emily isn't the only celebrity who is a big fan of Petersen's work
- Taylor Swift and Brooklyn Decker have also worn her
vintage-inspired, signature Fitzgerald dress.
