Emily Blunt suffered sleepless nights on movie set
British actress Emily Blunt suffered sleepless nights after filming a harrowing scene for her new movie The Girl On The Train.
The Edge of Tomorrow star plays a divorced alcoholic who spies on a couple she spots on her commute in the upcoming adaptation of Paula Hawkins' best-selling novel.
Emily has been filming the thriller in New York, and admits she
struggled to sleep after shooting a particularly dramatic fight
scene.
"I went home and I couldn't sleep for two or three days in a row
and it was odd," she told reporters at a press conference in the
Big Apple. "I've never had that experience as an actor before. I've
usually managed to have a pretty good detachment from work."
The actress goes on to reveal she looks terrible in the film, and
her appearance scares her 22-month-old daughter Hazel.
"I'm now playing the worst looking alcoholic in the world..." she
adds. "Trust me - I can show you a picture. I think I frighten my
own child! It's that bad!"
The drama, which also stars Justin Theroux and Rebecca Ferguson, is
due for release next year (16).
The book is set in the U.K., but the new movie has been
transplanted to New York, and Emily previously insisted she would
be keeping her character British to appease fans.
"It's moved to New York but I'm going to play her as British, that
was a decision Tate (director Tate Taylor) and I made recently,"
she told the BBC. "I try not to get weighed down with what people
are going to think of me. I'm going to have my own take on it."
