Emily Blunt is a second-time mother

British actress Emily Blunt is celebrating the Independence Day holiday as a mother of two.

The Sicario star quietly welcomed daughter Violet last month (Jun16) and her husband John Krasinski took to Twitter.com on Monday (04Jul16) to announce the birth.

"What better way to celebrate the 4th... than to announce our 4th family member!!! 2 weeks ago we met our beautiful daughter Violet #Happy4th," he wrote.

Emily and John, who wed in 2010, are already parents to two-year-old Hazel Grace Krasinski. The couple announced its second pregnancy in January (16).

In March (16), Emily opened up about how different her latest pregnancy was compared to her first, saying, "I think the first pregnancy you're very self indulgent in some ways. It's all about you and having naps and pre-natal yoga and all that stuff. And this time around it's not really the same - you're running around after a child that you already have...!"

And the actress confessed it took a little while before Hazel warmed up to the idea of becoming a big sister.

"She's coming around to the idea of it (the baby) now," Emily told British television show This Morning in March (16). "She dismissed it wholeheartedly when I first brought it up and now she's quite excited, I think!"

Emily will enjoy a little bit of downtime following the birth, but will back to work soon to take on the role of Mary Poppins in a Disney sequel set for release in 2018. She will join Lin-Manuel Miranda, the star and creator of Broadway smash Hamilton, in Mary Poppins Returns. Mary Poppins Returns has a similar plotline set-up, however Blunt's Mary Poppins character will be joined by Miranda's streetlamp lighter Jack. The pair partner up to help the Banks children, who are now full-grown adults, find magic in life again during Depression-era London.

Marc Shaiman is teaming up with Tony Award winner Scott Wittman to compose original songs and a score for Mary Poppins Returns.
