Ed Sheeran and AC/DC win big at Echo Awards

British pop star Ed Sheeran and veteran rockers Ac/Dc were among the big winners at Germany's top music prizegiving on Thursday night (26Mar15).

A host of stars turned out for the 2015 Echo Awards, the German equivalent of the Grammys, in Berlin and winners included Sheeran, who took home the Male Artist Rock/Pop (International) prize for his album X.

AC/DC won the Rock/Alternative (International) award for their latest record Rock Or Bust, and Pink Floyd took the Band Rock/Pop (International) trophy.

Other winners included British group Arctic Monkeys, who won the Radio-echo award for On Us, while German DJ Robin Schulz took a dance prize for his international smash hit Prayer in C. French DJ David Guetta won an international dance prize for his track Listen, and German superstar Helene Fischer landed the night's top trophy, Album of the Year, for Colors.
