Driving instructor failed to recognise Adele

Adele was stunned when a motoring instructor who helped her pass her driving test insisted he did not recognise any of her songs.

The Rolling In The Deep hitmaker celebrated passing her road exam earlier this month (Oct13) with the help of driving instructor Noel Gaughan, but he has now revealed he had not heard any of her tracks.

The singer later credited Gaughan for steering her through the tough test, saying, "(I) could not have done it without him."

The instructor, who has also given lessons to movie stars Gemma Arterton and James McAvoy and One Direction singer Niall Horan, insisted he didn't know any of the singer's tracks - even when she performed them in the car.

He says, "'She would sing some beautiful songs and say 'You must know this one' but I don't really know many celebrities."
