Drake shows off comedy skills on Saturday Night Live
Rapper Drake returned to his acting roots this weekend (15Oct11) when he took part in a comedy sketch on hit show Saturday Night Live.
The star began his entertainment career in 2001 on Canadian TV series Degrassi: The Next Generation and he showed off his acting skills once more on Saturday when he appeared on SNL's Weekend Update segment alongside funnymen Seth Meyers and Jay Pharoah.
Portraying teenagers dressed as werewolves for Halloween, Drake and
Pharoah joked about stealing kids' candy and even made up a song
about snatching the sweet treats.
Drake explained, "Instead of going house to house, we go kid to kid
and we take their bags and they cry like, 'I'm hungry, I want my
candy'. It's really funny.
The pair then performed the fictional track Bag Jacking, with Drake
rapping, "Give me your Reece's Pieces, give me your Hershey bar/I
want your Milky Way, give me that Snickers bar/I would trick or
treat, but I'm too old now/So I snatch your bag so I don't look
like a paedophile..."
The episode, which was hosted by House Bunny star Anna Faris,
featured Drake as the show's musical guest, performing his single
Headlines and new song Make Me Proud with Nicki Minaj.
Taking to his Twitter.com blog after the show, Drake addressed his
SNL comedy pals Pharoah and Andy Samberg, writing, "@jaypharoah
@andysamberg Thank you for making that dream come true! SNL!!!
Wow."
