Director Brian Singer confirms next X-Men film
Director Bryan Singer has signed on to bring the next X-Men film in the blockbuster action series to movie theatres in 2016.
The filmmaker is currently preparing for the May (14) release of his latest project, X-Men: Days of Future Past, but he has already lined up another installment of the hugely popular franchise.
Singer, who also directed 2000's X-Men and 2003's X2, hinted at the
news in a Twitter.com post on Thursday (05Dec13), simply writing,
"Xmen Apocalypse 2016!", and now movie executives at 20th Century
Fox have confirmed the plans.
Details about the film are currently under wraps, although
Apocalypse is considered one of the X-Men's greatest enemies and is
the first villain the mutant superheroes face in the comic books
the films are based on.
X-Men: Apocalypse has been scheduled for release in May, 2016.
