David Beckham named godfather of Liv Tyler's baby

Retired soccer star David Beckham has reportedly been named godfather of Liv Tyler's newborn child.

The Armageddon actress welcomed a son named Sailor in February (15) with Beckham's soccer agent pal Dave Gardner, and the sports star, a father of four, has now reportedly been given a special honour by the couple.

A source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Becks and Dave are close pals and go back years. They speak to each other all the time and their families are well connected... They were best men for each other's weddings so are involved in their major events... Dave knows Becks will always be a great influence for his kids. He's the perfect choice."

Tyler and Gardner have been dating since last year (14) and are rumoured to be engaged. They have both been married once before and each have a child from those relationships.
