Ciara engaged to Russell Wilson

R&B singer Ciara is engaged to NFL star Russell Wilson.

The couple began dating early last year (15) and famously vowed to abstain from sex before marriage, and on Friday (11Mar16), the Seattle Seahawks quarterback announced they are heading down the aisle.

In a video posted on Instagram, Ciara is pictured wearing a large diamond on her ring finger, and he happily confirms they are engaged.

"She said yes! Yeah!" the 27-year-old cheers. "Making this thing happen. My baby."

"Yay! I'm so excited," adds Ciara. "God is so good."

Russell shared the sweet footage online with the caption, "She said Yes!!! Since Day 1 I knew you were the one. No Greater feeling... #TrueLove @Ciara".

Ciara also celebrated the news on social media, writing, "God Is Good! Grateful For You @DangRussWilson. You Are Heaven Sent. I'm Looking Forward To Spending Forever With You".

The Goodies hitmaker has been open about her relationship with Russell over the past few months, and has shared multiple photos of their romantic outings on social media.

Just last month (Feb16), in the lead up to Valentine's Day (14Feb16), Ciara insisted there was no pressure for the sports star to pop the question.

"You have to ask the guy that!" she laughed when asked by an Eonline.com reporter if fans would be hearing wedding bells soon. However, Ciara insisted she wouldn't mind becoming Mrs. Wilson, if it's in their future: "Let me tell you, no pressure. One day at a time."

The marriage will be 30-year-old Ciara's first. She was previously engaged to rapper Future, with whom she shares a son, Future Zahir Wilburn. They split in 2014.

Russell, meanwhile, was married to Ashton Meem from 2012 to 2014.
