Christina Milian heads back to school for storytime

Pop star Christina Milian went back to school on Thursday (05Mar15) to treat kids to a storytime session in celebration of Read Across America Day.

The Dip It Low hitmaker, who has a five-year-old daughter named Violet, teamed up with Read Across America campaign officials to encourage more children to pick up a book, just four days after charity bosses marked its annual holiday on Monday (02Mar15), Dr. Seuss' birthday.

During Milian's Los Angeles visit, which coincided with World Book Day, she read popular Dr. Seuss story Green Eggs and Ham to students and later shared photos of herself back in a classroom online.

Alongside one snap, she wrote, "Spent the afternoon with the kids teaching them that reading is fundamental. Thank you #ReadAcrossAmerica for having me. All the kids were lovely and put a huge smile on my face. We made reading fun... Blessed".

Another picture was captioned, "#ReadAcrossAmerica blessed to put a smile on their faces! I get super into character I can't help it. They love it".
