Chris Klein becomes a first-time father

American Pie actor Chris Klein has become a father after welcoming a son with wife Liana Rose Thyfault.

The 37-year-old took to social media on Wednesday (27Jul16) to share the happy news alongside a close up shot of his little boy.

"So incredibly blessed and forever grateful for my amazing wife & our healthy baby boy," he wrote. "Laina delivered me a miracle."

The baby's name is yet to be revealed.

Chris and Liana shared the baby news back in March (16) via social media, when Chris took to his Twitter account to make the big announcement on his 37th birthday.

"My beautiful wife Laina and I are expecting our first child. 23 weeks along. Gratefully blessed on my 37th B-Day," he wrote alongside an image of his spouse's growing baby bump.

Chris and Laina tied the knot during a romantic ceremony in Montana last August (15). The couple exchanged vows in front of 115 guests at the Rainbow Ranch in Gallatin Gateway on the banks of the Gallatin River.

They dated for almost four years after meeting at a mutual friend's wedding before Chris popped the question in December, 2014.

Chris previously dated Dawson's Creek actress Katie Holmes, and they became engaged in 2003. However, their romance fizzled out a year later, and the former couple split in March, 2005. She went on to wed her childhood crush Tom Cruise the following year (06). That union lasted until she filed for divorce in 2012.
