Chris Evans' favorite children's charity gets donations boost from Pratt bet
Movie superheroes Chris Evans and Chris Pratt's friendly Super Bowl bet has helped to boost donations to the Captain America star's favorite children's charity by more than $11,000 .
The actors' hometown teams faced off in the big game on Sunday (01Feb15), with Evans' New England Patriots taking on Guardians of the Galaxy star Pratt's 2014 Super Bowl champs, the Seattle Seahawks.
Evans proposed the pals take their light-hearted rivalry to the
next level by suggesting the loser would have to visit a children's
hospital of the winner's choosing in character.
Pratt agreed, and their friendly jabs online helped to raise the
profile of Evans' favorite charity, the Christopher's Haven
facility in Boston, Massachusetts, where organization bosses have
recorded an extra $11,000 in donations from fans inspired to help
out.
Joyce Duvall, executive director of Christopher's Haven, tells
TMZ.com, "The coolest thing about something like this is that all
the kids win... no matter what happened in the football game."
Pratt emerged the loser of the bet as Evans' Patriots beat the
Seahawks.
However, instead of picking one medical center over the other, the
two friends have decided to treat young patients to special
superhero visits at both the Christopher's Haven center, which
provides a home for kids battling cancer, and the Seattle
Children's Hospital.
