Chris Brown pleads not guilty to hit-and-run charge
Singer Chris Brown has pleaded not guilty to a charge of hit-and-run relating to a minor car accident in May (13).
The Fine China hitmaker appeared in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday (23Jul13) to answer the count after bumping into the back of Olga Gure-Kovalenko's car and allegedly leaving the scene of the accident without providing correct insurance details.
That charge, and one for driving without a valid California
license, was dropped on Tuesday, according to TMZ.com.
Brown was not arrested at the time of the incident, but has until 6
August (13) to report to police for booking.
The singer, who is already on probation relating to his 2009
assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna, maintains he provided all of
the correct information on the day of the accident.
Brown's probation was revoked on 15 July (13) and he faces up to
four years in prison if found guilty of the hit-and-run.
His next court date has been scheduled for 15 August (13). He will
also have to attend a separate hearing for his probation violation
next month.
