Channing Tatum bringing Magic Mike to Sin City

Channing Tatum is bringing his hit Magic Mike franchise to life with a new male stripper show in Las Vegas.

The actor, who starred and produced in both the 2012 film and its 2015 sequel Magic Mike XXL made the announcement in a Facebook Live video on Wednesday (04May16), revealing Magic Mike Live will be coming to the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in March, 2017.

Channing, a former exotic dancer himself, introduced the all-male cast of the show and went on to explain that their goal is to create an experience never seen before, and they need to enlist the help of fans to create it.

"We want to change what male entertainment has been for years," Channing said. "For 40, 50 years, it has not changed, and we want to make it better. It’s time to revolutionize something that has been very old... we have to do some different stuff, and have some fun in different ways, instead of men just trying to go up there and tell you what you think is sexy.

"We really want to hear from you. It should be woman-empowering instead of just about the guys getting naked."

Channing will not appear in the Las Vegas show, but teased during the live broadcast that he wouldn't rule a cameo out, saying, "If I'm ever in shape enough to actually do the show again, I will absolutely step on stage, just because it's fun. I'm sure there’ll be a lot of crazy cameos."

The star recruited Magic Mike choreographers Alison Faulk and Teresa Espinosa to be in charge of creating the moves for Magic Mike Live, which "will recreate the mythic Club Domina with a sizzling 360-degree dance and acrobatic strip tease spectacular, guaranteed to bring on the heat," according to a press release.

In addition to Channing, the Magic Mike films also star Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, Alex Rodriguez and Kevin Nash.
