Celine Dion opens up about nursing husband through cancer battle
Celine Dion has opened up about caring for her husband Rene Angelil as he battles throat cancer, revealing she feeds him through a tube every day.
The pop diva took an indefinite break from her Las Vegas residency in August (14), to deal with her longtime manager and partner's health struggle, and, in a new interview with newswoman Deborah Roberts, a tearful Dion spoke candidly about serving as a caretaker for Angelil.
She reveals, "He can't use his mouth, he can't eat, so I feed him.
He's got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day. I do
this myself. And so I feed my husband and I feed my kids."
Dion added, "We are taking life one day at a time, but we are
choosing to live."
The singer, who has three sons with Angelil, recently announced
that she will be heading back to the Caesars Palace stage in Las
Vegas in this August (15) with a revamped show.
The full interview with Dion will air on Wednesday's (25Mar15)
edition of Good Morning America.
