Carrie Underwood ate pizza alone on her 30th birthday
Country star Carrie Underwood spent her recent 30th birthday eating alone after her husband, ice hockey player Mike Fisher, fell ill with a bout of influenza.
The singer is currently on the third North American leg of her year-long Blown Away world tour, which began last May (12), but she was given a two-day break to mark her age milestone on 10 March (13) and she planned to head back home to Nashville, Tennessee to spend much-needed quality time with Fisher.
However, the birthday girl's dream date quickly fell apart after
her husband fell ill.
She tells People magazine, "I was like, 'I only have 48 hours. I
want to do my laundry and go out to dinner.' But Mike got the flu,
so I ended up eating vegan pizza. By myself. I was like, 'I'm not
mad at you. I do not want you going anywhere, because I know you
feel awful. But I do expect a redo!'"
Underwood had to depart for Europe the next day and her delayed
birthday "redo" may have to wait a while - she wraps up her live
shows in Abbotsford, Canada on 23 May (13).
