Broadway veteran Tony Vincent will be the red-hot favorite to win the second season of hit TV talent show The Voice after revealing he's auditioning for the chance to wow judges like Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green.

The actor/singer, who made his Broadway debut 12 years ago in Rent and also appeared on the West End stage in London, will be among the contestants on the show.

Making the big announcement on his website, Vincent writes, "I have auditioned for the hit television show The Voice, which airs on America's NBC network.

"It's been an amazing experience thus far and if you all want to see how I did at my audition, turn into the show's premiere episode, airing right after the Superbowl on February 5th, 2012. The talent this season is top-notch. You don't want to miss this!"

As well as starring in Rent, Vincent has played Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar on Broadway and he also originated the role of St. Jimmy in Green Day musical American Idiot.
