Britney Spears accused of digitally altering bikini bod

Britney Spears has been accused of badly editing a new bikini photo she posted on social media.

The Toxic star showed off her toned body in an Instagram snap on Sunday (20Mar16), when she was pictured lying on the concrete beside the pool in an orange bikini as she soaked up the sun.

"Just chilling," she captioned the image.

However, the singer's post quickly drew the attention of fans for all the wrong reasons as they spotted what appeared to be a glaring oversight in her photo editing, which she seemingly used to shrink the size of her waist.

A number of followers pointed out the gap between the ground and the small in her back should have been filled with concrete, but instead, the space had been filled water, suggesting it had been digitally altered.

"You need a lesson in how to photoshop so it's not so obvious," commented one follower.

Another Instagram user urged Britney to embrace her figure, writing, "Photoshop at its worst. You have a great body Britney, you don't need that."

"The gap in your back should be stone, not water," added another critic. "Bad photoshop."

Britney has yet to respond to the criticism, but she has been happy to show off her toned physique in recent posts, including a brief video clip earlier this month (Mar16), featuring the mother-of-two dancing in the same orange bikini on a beach.

She has also made it clear she doesn't have time for haters, preferring instead to ignore negativity online.

"Whoever is in the spotlight, people are really quick to judge," she recently told V magazine. "I mean, there are a lot of kids coming up who've experienced that. You know, Justin Bieber, he's huge, and he experiences that. It's just the way the world works, unfortunately. I've been doing this for 20 years. I kind of don't pay attention to it. I have my relationship with God and myself and that's what matters to me. I really don't care what most people think."
