Brandon Flowers needed solo album to prepare for Killers comeback
Rocker Brandon Flowers has likened his solo album to musical "training", insisting the project prepared him for The Killers' return.
The singer released his own album, Flamingo, in September 2010 during the band's hiatus, but decided to wrap up his independent career to focus on fatherhood.
The Killers went back into the studio earlier this year (12), and
now Flowers is adamant his solo endeavours readied him to front the
group once again.
He tells Rolling Stone, "It was like being in training. I was
keeping myself not just occupied, but ready."
And despite their critics, the frontman reveals the band will
continue to write their signature catchy anthems, adding, "We write
a very particular type of song when we get together. So many people
try to find something wrong with it, but I'm not embarrassed by
it."
