Brad Paisley tapped to judge Rising Star - report

Country singer Brad Paisley has reportedly been chosen as the first judge for singing competition show Rising Star.

The reality series will follow the format of a hit Israeli show and allow viewers to vote on their favourite contestant in real time using a digital app.

The series is slated to premiere in the summer (14) and two other judges will reportedly be announced in the next few weeks, according to Deadline.com.

Former American Idol executive producer Ken Warwick and The Voice's Nicolle Yaron will serve as executive producers on the show.
