Bobbi Kristina's roommate breaks silence on tragic anniversary of bathtub incident
Tragic Bobbi Kristina Brown's former roommate and friend has broken his silence to mark the first anniversary of the near-drowning incident that eventually killed Whitney Houston's only child.
Mason Whitaker has refused to speak with media outlets, but he opened up for the first time about his pal's untimely death as the anniversary of the awful incident that put Brown in hospital last year (31Jan15) passed.
Bobbi Kristina was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub at
the Georgia home she shared with boyfriend Nick Gordon. She was
taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors placed her in a medically
induced coma, from which she never woke. She died in July (15).
"Not a day goes by that I don't think about her and the amazing
influence she had on my life," Mason told People.com. "Her vibrant
spirit will live on forever. It devastates me to think the world
won't be able to experience the amazing person she was."
"I want so bad for the world to be able to experience her energy
and soul she brought to so many people's lives," he continued. "You
could be having the worst day of your life, and after five minutes
talking to her, it would change from the worst to the best
day."
Meanwhile, Gordon, who has been accused of his girlfriend's
wrongful death by members of the her family and a court-appointed
conservator, chose to stay silent on the sad anniversary.
His lawyer released a statement, which read: "Nick Gordon is
continuing to grieve privately. On top of losing the love of his
life and his dearest friend, he has been dehumanized by the
fictitious allegations made in the civil suit and repeatedly
slandered in the press. Despite all of this, Nick remains strong
and is sincerely thankful for the endless love and support he has
received from friends and strangers alike."
