Beyonce's dad suggests singer is 36, not 34

Beyonce's father Mathew Knowles has confused fans by suggesting the superstar has been telling tales about her real age.

The Halo singer has long listed her birthday as 4 September, 1981, making her 34, but Mathew claims she is actually the same age as pop star Pink, who was born in 1979.

Recalling the early days of their careers, when Beyonce was still trying to find fame with Destiny's Child, he recently told The Breakfast Club, "These guys had a competitiveness. (Music mogul) L.A. (Reid) had a girls group, but I bet you don't know who the lead singer was - Pink. She's the exact same age as Beyonce and there used to be this battle of who was better."

He added, "You had Usher, he was the same age. They were all 14 or 15 years old living in Atlanta."

Usher turned 37 last week (14Oct15).

Beyonce has yet to comment on her father's statements, but it's not the first time conspiracy theories have surfaced concerning the superstar's age. In 2006, TMZ editors claimed officials in the Department of Health in her native Texas had her listed as seven years older than she claims.
