Beyonce and Jay Z 'moved to Los Angeles for Blue's school'
Jay Z and Beyonce reportedly made the move to sunny Los Angeles so Blue Ivy could attend a progressive private school.
While the superstar Grammy award-winners may not be your average mom and dad, the pair are model parents who are “very involved” at daughter Blue’s $19,000 a year private school in L.A., according to Us Weekly magazine.
“One of them always drops her off or picks her up,” a source told
the outlet, adding, “Jay Z even goes to PTA meetings!”
The first indication of how involved they are came when Beyonce
made a surprise appearance at a fundraiser at her daughter's school
in March (16).
The Formation singer appeared on stage in a sparkling black and
gold mini-dress to sing a few of her hits - including Crazy in Love
- and a cover of Whitney Houston's version of I Will Always Love
You for attendees of the school's 75th anniversary gala.
Relocating to Los Angeles was a big move for Brooklyn native Jay Z,
who has long waxed lyrically about his fondness for his old
neighborhood, including creating a second great anthemic ode to the
city, rivalling Frank Sinatra's New York, New York, with song
Empire State of Mind which featured Alicia Keys.
However, Blue's devoted dad reportedly crossed coasts for this
particular school because of its progressive teaching program.
The close friend adds, “They moved to L.A. because they wanted her
to attend this great school.”
Pal Gwyneth Paltrow is also said to have helped the pair make up
their minds about a move to the West Coast by explaining how great
the L.A. lifestyle is for children.
“Gwyneth was telling Jay and Bey about the quality of life for her
kids in L.A. and really swayed Beyoncé and Jay to make the move.
It’s all for Blue Ivy," a source said at the time.
