Bella Hadid falls on New York Fashion Week runway
Model Bella Hadid was left red-faced on Wednesday (14Sep16) when she fell on the runway during New York Fashion Week.
The 19-year-old beauty was walking in the Michael Kors Spring 2017 fashion show, showing off a ruffled, knee-length dress with towering platform heels, when she suffered every model's worst nightmare and lost her footing.
She tumbled right in front of the photographers' pit, landing on
her hands and knees, as some members of the audience, which
included Vogue boss Anna Wintour and actresses Emily Blunt and
Sienna Miller, gasped in shock.
However, Bella refused to let the fall keep her down and she
gracefully picked herself up off the ground and continued with the
show, which also featured fellow models Kendall Jenner, Joan
Smalls, and Taylor Hill.
The teen, who is dating singer The Weeknd, has yet to comment on
the runway collapse, but she isn't the first big name to trip up
during a high-profile show.
Candice Swanepoel fell as she walked in a New York Fashion Week
presentation for Givenchy last year (15), while Bella's idol, Naomi
Campbell, is infamous for her epic stumble in 1993 during Vivienne
Westwood's Paris Fashion Week showcase.
Bella's older sister, fellow supermodel Gigi Hadid, is also no
stranger to fashion show fails after her right breast was
accidentally left exposed at the Versace presentation during Milan
Fashion Week in Italy in February (16).
The blonde 21-year-old, who had been wearing a black evening gown
with cutout detail and a low neckline for the occasion, laughed off
the incident in a post on Twitter after the embarrassing strut.
She tweeted, "Wadrobe (sic) malfunctions happen on the runway every
day of fw (fashion week) & are...unfortunate,lol (laugh out
loud),but let's talk instead about the new VERSACE CHOKERS".
