Ariana Grande served with copyright lawsuit
Ariana Grande is being sued for allegedly ripping off a pre-existing track for her hit One Last Time.
Songwriter Alex Greggs has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the pop star over the single, which was featured on Grande's 2014 album My Everything.
In the papers obtained by TMZ.com, Greggs claims Grande and
producer David Guetta duplicated the chorus of his 2012 song Takes
All Night, which he wrote for EDM artist Skye Stevens.
Greggs alleges the duo also plagiarized his lyrics, "Cause baby if
it takes all night, I’m taking you home," with Grande saying in her
hook, "I need to be the one who takes you home."
Greggs, who has worked with stars such as Lady Gaga, Justin
Timberlake and both Michael and Janet Jackson, is seeking an
unspecified amount of Grande's profits from the hit.
