Anna Faris fined over allegations of dog abandonment
Actress Anna Faris has been fined $5,000 after a dog she reportedly adopted four years ago was found abandoned in North Hollywood.
The animal-loving Scary Movie star, who is married to actor Chris Pratt, reportedly took in a Chihuahua named Pete from the Kinder4Rescue shelter in 2012.
According to TMZ.com, she signed an agreement at the time, taking
full ownership of the pooch and accepting she would have to pay a
hefty fine if she ever handed the pooch over to a new owner. The
contract was designed to help shelter officials keep track of the
animal.
Kinder4Rescue owner Laurel Kinder has now revealed she received a
worrying call from a nearby veterinarian on Friday (18Nov16) after
little Pete was found, looking emaciated and homeless.
Kinder has been trying to reach Faris ever since, but claims the
actress and her husband are out of state and have yet to
respond.
Representatives for the stars had not commented on the report as
WENN went to press, but a source close to the couple reveals Faris
and Pratt are aware of the situation and are planning to make
arrangements to rescue Pete after finding a "nice family home" for
him.
In the meantime, Anna has been blacklisted by Kinder, who explains
the actress will only be able to escape the fine if she can prove
she has been actively searching for the stray pet.
Kinder is also considering taking legal action against the
39-year-old for breach of contract.
