Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man screening raises $10,000 for charity
Andrew Garfield helped raise more than $10,000 for a children's charity at a special screening of the new Spider-Man movie on Sunday (27Apr14).
The British actor has long supported the work of the Worldwide Orphans Foundation and he joined the organisation's founder Dr. Jane Aronson at the fundraising event in New York City.
Dr. Aronson's charity helps transform the lives of orphans around
the globe, and Garfield heaped praise on her work to date, telling
the crowd, "There's a lot of hope in all of us being here, and
giving whatever we can to a cause that's impossible to argue.
"I'm in awe of what Jane and her team do. I'm sure that if
Spider-Man were here, he'd be energised by the work of (Dr.
Aronson) and her incredible team."
Guests were treated to an early screening of The Amazing Spider-Man
2, which will hit cinemas this week (beg28Apr14). The film was
released around the world last week (ends27Apr14).
