Amy Adams was too drunk to elope in Las Vegas
Actress Amy Adams and her now-husband Darren Le Gallo ruined their plans to elope in Las Vegas by getting too drunk.
The Man of Steel star accepted her longtime boyfriend's proposal in 2008, but it took them seven years to walk down the aisle, celebrating with a low-key ceremony in California last spring (15).
Amy, whose busy work schedule prompted them to delay their
nuptials, has now revealed she and artist Darren actually planned
to run off to Sin City and tie the knot at one point during their
long engagement.
"We wanted to find a chaplain, go to the desert and get married at
sunset," she confessed to Marie Claire U.K. "But to be honest, we
got too drunk. Then it was just not going to happen."
The couple, parents to five-year-old daughter Aviana, has been
together for 14 years and Amy admits life as a newlywed has taken a
little getting used to.
"I definitely feel like I can't make empty threats (now she's
married)," she continued. "Before, I could be like, 'I'm just going
to go down and get a hotel room, and I'm going (to) think this
through!' Though I'm making myself sound horrible to this poor,
awesome guy. Relationships are hard. I think what I learned is, you
just have to make a choice. Marriage is a choice."
The actress has shared few details about her 2015 wedding, but she
previously insisted it would be a casual affair.
"We both have a very specific idea that we want to do this ceremony
in spring or fall, like in those months, but every time I'm busy
working," she told Allure magazine in 2013. "I want something very
family-oriented and laid-back."
