Amanda Bynes warns of imposters during rare Twitter update

Actress Amanda Bynes has asked fans to ignore information on social media accounts run by phonies pretending to be her.

The former All That star has kept a relatively low profile since her very public mental health breakdown in 2013, but on Wednesday (24Aug16) she returned to Twitter and told her devoted 3.4 million followers a little bit about how she's enjoying student life at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM), a prestigious Los Angeles-area school she enrolled in two years ago (14).

"Hi everybody! I haven't tweeted in a long time and I want to say hi! I've been really busy at FIDM, and I just finished my midterms," she wrote in her first message on the micro-blogging site since February (16). "I am really loving school and I feel that I am learning a lot. I enjoy all of my classes and my teachers are excellent."

"I'm really appreciative of all that FIDM is giving me. I've been in school learning about the fashion business so I don't have time to tweet," she concluded.

News of her educational success may surprise some of Amanda's fans, as it was reported she had been kicked out of FIDM for cheating just a few months after enrolling, having been readmitted last year (15) following the alleged drama.

However, the Hairspray actress has encouraged fans to dismiss most of the nonsense circulating around the internet about her, as all of the social media profiles in her name, save for her @amandabynes Twitter handle, are bogus.

"FYI, this Twitter account is the only communication media that I am using," she stressed. "No other Twitter accounts or websites are mine! I only have this one. I don't know why some people use my photos or try to pose as me, but they do. Please don't be confused or believe any of them."

"I really wish Twitter would take the account in question down, I'm not sure why they are refusing to do so," she added. "This is me! The verified, real, authentic and actual Amanda Bynes. Accept no substitutes!"
