Amanda Bynes appeals to Barack Obama over DUI charge
Amanda Bynes has turned to President Barack Obama for help after she was officially charged with driving under the influence (DUI).
The Hairspray star was hit with one count of misdemeanour DUI on Tuesday (05Jun12), stemming from her arrest in April (12) after she accidentally drove into a police car.
Amanda Bynes faces a maximum of six months behind bars if
convicted, but she has taken to Twitter.com to protest her
innocence.
She writes, "I was not in any hit and runs. I don't drink so the
DUI is false."
The 26 year old then sent a tweet to Barack Obama in an appeal for
justice, adding, "Hey Barack Obama... I don't drink. Please fire
the cop who arrested me. I also don't hit and run. The end."
District Attorney's officials are seeking a sentencing enhancement
because Amanda Bynes allegedly refused to take either a
breathalyzer or a blood test at the scene.
