Adele's rep plays down fans' cancer fears
Adele's representative has spoken out to reassure fans the singer does not have throat cancer after the wild rumour swept the internet.
The British soul sensation announced on Friday (28Oct11) she has axed the remaining gigs on her 2011 tour to undergo surgery for a persistent throat problem.
The announcement sparked speculation on social networking websites
that the singer's medical issues are more serious than first
thought, with some fans fearing she has contracted cancer - but a
rep for the star has moved swiftly to kill the rumours.
A spokesman for the Chasing Pavements hitmaker says, "We would like
to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a haemorrhaged
vocal cord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100 per
cent false."
