Adele's 25 sets more new records atop Billboard albums chart
Written by . Published: January 11 2016
British soul sensation Adele is continuing to break boundaries with her record-setting album 25 after scoring a seventh week atop the Billboard 200 chart.
The achievement makes 25 the first release by a female artist to spend its first seven weeks at number one since 1987, when Whitney Houston's second studio project, Whitney, dominated the countdown for 11 straight weeks.
25 is also the first album since Creed's Weathered in 2002 to enjoy
its debut seven weeks in first place.
Its continued success keeps Justin Bieber's Purpose at two, while
Twenty One Pilots' Blurryface is another non-mover at three.
The Weeknd's Beauty Behind the Madness climbs to four, and Rachel
Platten's debut album Wildfire enters at five.
