Adele and Florence + The Machine lead Apple Music honours
Adele and Florence + The Machine have landed the top titles in the 2015 iTunes and Apple Music honours.
Florence Welch and her band landed the Artist of the Year title from bosses at the online music giant, and Adele's 25 was named the year's (15) best-selling album despite only being released in November (15).
"Thank you so much for this," says Florence. "It's such an honour
to have been named artist of the year... iTunes showed such a huge
amount of support for (album) How Big How Blue How Beautiful and as
it was such a personal record I am incredibly touched..."
Adele landed the sales title ahead of Ed Sheeran's X and Taylor
Swift's 1989, which came in third and fourth respectively trailing
behind the latest Now That's What I Call Music! compilation at
number two.
Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars' huge hit Uptown Funk was named the
year's (15) best-selling song, ahead of Cheerleader by Omi at two
and Ellie Goulding's Love Me Like You Do at three.
Currents by Tame Impala was chosen as Best Album, King by Years &
Years was named Best Song and Wolf Alice landed the title of Best
New Artist / Band.
