Aaron Taylor-Johnson daunted by Givenchy perfume gig
Aaron Taylor-Johnson felt "daunted" prior to his first shoot as the face of Givenchy's men's fragrance.
The British actor was selected by the French luxury brand as the ambassador for Gentleman Givenchy in April (17), a woody aromatic scent.
A black and white video campaign to accompany the marketing imagery has recently been unveiled, with Aaron's filmmaker wife Sam Taylor-Johnson tapped to craft the concept.
"This is the first time I've had to do anything where I'm really representing myself and that's kind of daunting," he told Britain's Stylist magazine, adding that he soon felt at ease while collaborating with his partner of eight years. "It's important to reflect an essence of your personality and who better to do that than my wife? It was the most enjoyable experience because there's no inhibitions, no compromising. I'm very proud of it."
The Nocturnal Animals star added that he hopes he is the definition of a modern gentleman, and is someone who is open-minded, a feminist and charismatic. And the 27-year-old is interested to learn what Givenchy's new creative director Clare Waight Keller has in store for the label.
"It feels extraordinary," the actor shared of winning the Givenchy role. "As much as I can be socially awkward, this is a real honor. It's a great brand and family and I'm excited to see what Clare brings out in October (during Paris Fashion Week)."
When Aaron isn't shooting he's most likely to be found at home with his daughters Wylda, seven, five-year-old Romy. In addition to cooking healthy dishes, he enjoys practicing yoga.
"Yoga is beautiful. I like that feeling of meditative openness at the end of a session but it depends on what character I'm playing and how motivated I am to exercise. My wife is a lot more religious with it; I'm a bit lazy," he added.
