What's going on, guys? Welcome into the Young Hollywood studio with the lovely ladies of the Honor List. Hello! Hello! How's it going, guys? You all look so great together. So beautiful. You would never guess that I think you're running on very little sleep. You're coming off of like the premiere last night, right?
Yes! Yeah, it was super fun. It was really fun. It was so much fun. It was crazy. Like the um movie title was projected on a like a wall outside. Yeah, a little lights. And everyone was sending me pictures like as they were leaving, being like, "I can see it." Like as I'm like driving away. Like it just has the movie title. So, like that was the goal. Yeah. I was like, "Ah!" So that was really cool. And apparently we had cupcakes themed after each of our characters. I did not know that.
I did not know that either. Oh, they're all gone.
Wait, you had cupcakes? So they made cupcakes for each character. My friend ate one of each and said they were all delicious. Who's was the best? Just starting a competition. Megan, tell me a little bit about how this all started because I believe you you actually wrote the storyline like
Yeah, originally on a Google Doc. Yes. Yes. And it's turned into this film. I think you've designed the project. Mm-hmm. Tell me a little bit about the experience. My agents had made some comment, which now that I've been in Hollywood longer, I'm like, "Oh, that definitely wasn't like an instruction." But I took it very much like, "Oh, you want me to write something." Because they knew I really liked to write and that I was kind of frustrated with auditioning for so many girlfriends and so many like assisting these male characters. And so I wrote up this kind of logline for an idea and then um I wrote these like synopsis of each four characters. Like things that I would really be excited to get in my inbox that's like, "Hey, you have a casting for this." Flash forward all these years later, it was like, "Hey, it's greenlit. You're shooting. Go now."
And it seems like a really relatable coming of age story. For you guys and your characters that you played, what was most similar to your high school experience or most different from your high school experience?
Well, I was homeschooled, so it's completely different. But I love Isabella. She's such a strong, cool person. And I think the first thing that I related to was kind of her style. In high school, I always wore these cool Docs and had all these bracelets and definitely wanted to dye my hair and get piercings and do all of the things that Isabella is. Yeah. And my mom didn't let me get any piercings or dye my hair. But I did all the rest. She just seems so confident in the beginning and then you kind of reveal all these layers. She's a very complicated person and you see her past and what has kind of made her that way. And I was just really happy to play somebody that had all of those layers and had so many things that as an actress I could play with. And I did relate to her and I I grew with her. It was a I mean, I had a great time and I met so many cool women. Megan and I have laughed and cried and done weird things and just I don't yeah. It's it was just a really great experience.
And Arden, what about you and your character?
I mean, I definitely related to Honor in some ways. In some ways not. You know, she has an air of confidence that I don't think I really had. The Honor List definitely brought back some memories of high school in not so great ways. Like mean girls. Oh, I remember that. Yeah, high school's tough. Yeah. And so I think there was a lot of moments in the Honor List that remind me of that. But then they're redemptive in the movie. So it's really exciting to sort of see the girls accomplish that.
I think Piper and I are different in she was way cooler than me in high school. Like she's like very popular and I was not that cool. I was in Harry Potter Club. That's cool. Super sick. Yeah.
You were also an adorable teenager.
Oh, I know. I love her. I love her. Oh my gosh. With like long curly hair like she was super cool. Um invite me to your parties. Um but I I relate to her in the sense that she the reason why she's popular and she's cool is because people are drawn to her because she acts like she doesn't care about anything. So she's above like the social hierarchy system. Like she's like, "I'm not going to refer to myself as popular." But that's something that people are attracted to is like that girl who knows that she's the it girl but she doesn't have to try. But the whole thing with her that I really like is it's a contrived image. So she's working really hard to show that she's not working at all, which was very much me in high school where I'm like, "I don't care at all." I'm like, "But do you like me? Because I'm trying really hard to act like I'm not I don't care but I do."
We're all like that. You know, like some things you care about and things you don't care about but it's nice to see that.
To toss out the interview because I know the film is all about bucket lists, which I think is so cool. Will you share briefly your either strangest thing on your bucket list, your strangest, weirdest thing, most unexpected thing or your number one bucket list item.
Okay, I'm going to say my number one because I just feel like if I keep saying it over and over again, someone's going to see it and give me this job. I really want to be a superhero. I really, really, really, really want to be a superhero.
I'd love to sing in a jazz club one day. Like when I'm older. Like I'm like it's one of those things I want to do when I'm grown up and more confident. Like I'm working on that.
I love that. I love that. Yeah.
Yeah, that's a fun one. Yes. Yeah, I totally. I'm just an adrenaline junkie and I really want to go cage diving with great whites and Oh my god. Yeah, I really wanted to be a marine biologist if I wasn't an actress. And I'm so into all of that and like that's just going to be like the tip of the iceberg. I don't know.
Thank you guys for hanging out with us. Congratulations.
Thank you so much.
See you all. I like one. We'll see you soon.
